The project aimed to create an aspirational learning environment for Students entering the catering industry. In addition the project sought to expand the outreach of the work of the college by creating a comfortable environment for the public to enjoy sampling  the amazing fine dining produced during weekly open evenings hosted by Michelin award winning chefs. 

The project aimed to naturalise what was an existing institutional space within the context of the adjacent nature reserve using a low cost pallette of materials. A series of slatted walls create visual and acoustic filters between the kitchen, college atrium and the dining space. The servery, catering kitchen and mixology bar are designed carefully for the dual purpose of teaching space and restaurant. The sunken dining area overlooks a new kitchen garden allotment being created by the science department.
